Popular! We know about popular! To celebrate a fabulous year, we’re sharing our readers’ favorite Instant Pot recipes in 2024.

A round-up collage featuring six images of Instant Pot recipes. In the top right is quesabirria tacos with a golden yellow fried corn tortillas and rich brown shredded beef on a white plate garnished with limes. Underneath on the bottom left is One Pot Ravioli, featuring a creamy orangey-red tomato cream sauce covering square ravioli. In the bottom left middle is a white bowl filled with Wisconsin Mac and Cheese with a fork removing a bite. On the top middle right is a white plate of beef and broccoli garnished with sesame seeds and served on a bed of rice. Top right is a small image of bright pink corned beef sliced and plated on a round plate with cabbage and carrots just visible in the middle of the frame. And then on the bottom right is a large picture of a pulled pork sandwich, smothered in barbecue sauce, and served on a roll with slied cabbage and celery sticks at the bottom right of the plate.

As always, we like to round out the year by highlighting the recipes that have meant the most to our readers this year.

This year, we’re mixing it up a little. Instead of counting down the top 10, we’re dividing into categories:

READERS’ TOP FIVE *NEW* RECIPES FOR 2024

Before we get to the best of the best, we wanted to celebrate five of our NEW recipes that were created this year. These are the new recipes that Pressure Cooking Today readers have returned to time and time again.

5. Wisconsin Mac and Cheese

My kids challenged me to make a copycat version of Noodles & Company’s Wisconsin Mac & Cheese, since it is one of their favorites when we go out.

Our Homemade Wisconsin Mac and Cheese is super easy to make and extra smooth and creamy. We cook the pasta in the Instant Pot, then stir in a few more ingredients to make an easy cheese sauce. (No roux required!)

An overhead shot of a white bowl filled with bow-tie noodles, chicken, and alfredo sauce with a wooden spoon sticking out of the lower right corner. The white bowl is sitting on a beige napkin, with a small copper bowl of cheese and a small white bowl with salt and pepper seasonings.

4. Shortcut Chicken Alfredo

PCT readers really loved this quick and easy one-pot meal! And we can’t blame them!

This Shortcut Chicken Alfredo has a 5-minute cook time and can be on the table in about 20 minutes.

Cook the chicken breasts and pasta at the same time, then shred the chicken and add your favorite jarred sauce to finish it off. This one is a perfect meal for busy nights!

A serving bowl with shredded beef birria topped with fresh cilantro, red onion, and lime wedges, placed in front of an Instant Pot with a bowl of consume and fresh salsa in the background.

3. Homemade Beef Birria Tacos (Quesabirria)

This one is my favorite new recipe from 2024, so I’m glad to see it show up in our reader’s top 5 as well.

Beef Birria is a tender, fall-apart shredded beef that’s usually served with a consommé made from the cooking liquid for dipping.

Using the Instant Pot and a jarred birria sauce makes a flavorful birria that’s ready in a fraction of the time.

An overhead shot showing an Instant Pot out of focus in the upper left corner of the shot. The bottom of the frame is taken up by a large bowl of Instant Pot ravioli, with a silver serving spoon ready to scoop up a delicious ravioli with meat sauce and cheese.

2. One-Pot Ravioli from Frozen

PCT readers have loved our One-Pot Ravioli recipe. This recipe cooks frozen ravioli, makes the meat sauce at the same time, add spinach for some veggies, and can be on the table in about 30 minutes.

This meal became our go-to for large gatherings because its so easy to make. You can easily expand this one by adding a second bag of frozen ravioli with no other changes needed.

1. How to Pressure Cook a Whole Chicken

We were surprised to see this one take the top spot for new recipes in 2024!

Cooking a whole chicken in the Instant Pot is a budget-friendly way to get some chicken on the dinner table! This is a mostly hands-off and results in chicken that’s juicy and full of flavor.

You can enjoy it as its own meal, shred or chop for meal prep. And you can even make your own chicken broth with the leftovers.

And, without further ado, we present the Top Five most popular recipes for 2024. These recipes are old favorites that Pressure Cooking Today readers are still crazy for after all these years.

5. Smoky & Tender Beef Brisket | Instant Pot recipe

The Instant Pot Beef Brisket recipe is perfect for taking a tough cut of meat and cooking it to tender perfection.

Add the liquid smoke for that perfect smoky flavor!

4. Instant Pot Corned Beef and Cabbage

Every St. Patrick’s Day, this classic Irish dish shoots to the top of our charts. Just a simple brisket that’s been cured with corned rock salt, which gives it a signature pink color

Corned Beef and Cabbage is easy to make in the Instant Pot. While slow-cooked corned beef has to cook all day, this pressure cooker corned beef cook time is 90 minutes, mostly hands-off.

“Best corned beef I have ever made! And it was easy.”

3. Instant Pot Beef and Broccoli

Pressure Cooking Today readers agree: This Beef and Broccoli meal is better than take-out. (Seriously, we’ve stopped ordering Beef and Broccoli at restaurants because it never compares to our recipe.)

This recipe features tender, thin-sliced beef and broccoli in a rich sauce that is salty and sweet and it’s on the table in about 30 minutes.

“No matter how many times I make this—whether with beef or chicken—it always blows me away because it is always so perfect and even more delish than I had remembered.”

2. Homemade Instant Pot Beef Stew

This hearty, homemade stew is based on an old-fashioned recipe that’s been in our family for over 40 years. When you make Instant Pot Beef Stew, you’ll have comfort food on the table in about an hour, but it tastes like it’s been simmering on the stovetop all day.

“Just made this for dinner tonight, it was so delicious! I will keep this recipe forever!”

1. Easy Instant Pot Pulled Pork

For several years now, our Easy Instant Pot Pulled Pork recipe has topped the list of readers’ favorites. We are thrilled you love it as much as we do!

This pulled pork is a great, mostly hands-off recipe that requires just 4 ingredients: oil, pork, BBQ sauce, and water. We love to make it to feed a crowd or to freeze individual portions for a quick lunch option.

“So, so good! I have done this recipe so many times. The only way to make pulled pork sandwiches.”

FIVE FAVORITE RECIPES FROM OUR PRESSURE COOKING FRIENDS

Barbara and I also like to support our blogging friends. Some of these friends we’ve met in person; others, only online. These are five of our favorite recipes from friends that we’ve tried AND LOVED in 2024.

We highly recommend checking out their websites to find more amazing flavors!

Loaded Potato Casserole

If there’s one recipe that I wish I’d created, it’s this Loaded Potato Casserole from Renae at the Feathered Nester. My husband loves it to the point that my kids just call it “Dad’s potatoes.”

It’s high praise, but this side dish has earned it!

The melted cheese, bacon, and mashed potatoes are all enhanced with a little tang from sour cream and a little zest from a ranch seasoning packet. When it all combines together, it is absolute magic and a perfect side for any grilled meat.

Instant Pot Yogurt Bowls

It’s no secret around here how much we love Marci at InstaFresh Meals. We have all four of her Freezer Meals cookbooks and use those regularly. However, I was surprised at how often this year I’ve pulled up her Yogurt Bowls recipe.

These bowls are simple, full of flavor, and lower on sugar. (The flavor combinations work great for steel cut oats too, so I’ll often double up to use up ingredients without feeling like I’m eating the same thing.)

Instant Pot Banh Mi | Vietnamese Sandwich

Barbara has known Neena at Paint the Kitchen Red for a long time now. Neena has an amazing selection of Instant Pot recipes, and we often turn to her when we’re craving flavors that are new to us.

Even though it’s been around for a few years, her Bahn Mi pork sandwich recipe is new to us this year. She takes pork shoulder and cooks it until it’s tender in the Instant Pot, then crisps up the meat and serves it on airy sandwich bread with pickled veggies and several different sauces and seasonings.

Instant Pot Mulligatawny Soup

A few years ago, I met Robin from All Ways Delicious in a blogging group, and she has always been kind and generous with her advice. She’s also an accomplished food writer, with over 40 (!) cookbooks to her name.

She has shared links to this Mulligatawny Soup for years, but it wasn’t until this year that I decided to try this little-bit-sweet-and-spicy soup. I did cut down on the peppers, ginger, and curry powder to make it gentle enough for our family’s tastes. I was amazed at how everything blended together to create a totally new-to-me flavor profile. (And it’s even better the day after you make it to let the flavors blend even more!)

Chipotle Shredded Beef

Deborah from Taste & Tell is a local food blogger that Barbara has known for a long while. (Barbara started her first blog, Barbara Bakes, SIXTEEN years ago, and Deborah started hers the year before!)

Sometime this year, Deborah’s Chipotle Shredded Beef came across our social media feed, and it was a blast from the past. So we had to try it again, and honestly it’s even better than we remembered.

The recipe calls for 3 pounds of chuck roast, so it is perfect to cook for a crowd. With the spice blend plus chipotle peppers, it’s just the right amount of heat.

This recipe makes amazing burritos and tacos, and it freezes well in individual portions.

TOP FIVE COOKING Products of 2024

It was hard to whittle our list down to just five products, but these are the five products we’ve used the most this year. They’re our favorites, most-impossible-to-live without. You’ll see them pop up in a number of our recipes, for good reason.

Instant Pot Pro

For the third year running, the Instant Pot Pro has topped our list of favorite pressure cookers. We love the cooking options like Sous Vide and Yogurt, the easy-to-read display, and the flat-bottom pot with handles that you can transfer right over to the stovetop.

Instant Vortex with Clear Cook Window & Odor Erase Technology

Our favorite basket-style air fryer for 2024 is the Instant Vortex with Clear Cook and Odor Erase. Being able to keep an eye on the food while it cooks makes this the air fryer I always reach for. We love the button-and-dial controls, the easy-to-clean fry plate, and we think the Odor Erase tech does help with stronger odors.

Read our full Instant Vortex review here. Then try our Air Fryer Chocolate Chip Cookies. 🙂

Fat Daddio’s Anodized Aluminum Round Cake Pan, 7 x 3 Inch

This 7-inch round cake pan is a must-have for pot-in-pot cooking. You’ll see us use it in many of our recipes that call for diced chicken and rice, as we’re doing in the Sweet and Sour Chicken recipe photo above. It’s also great for foods that might scorch on the bottom of the pot, like polenta.

Check out our full guide on pot-in-pot cooking to learn how to put this accessory to use.

Stackable Air Fryer Rack

We LOVE these square air fryer racks for making French fries or for baking in the air fryer. Since there are three racks, they can be stacked together or can be prepped and ready to swap out easily. Plus they come with retriever tongs to make it easier to get the pans out of the hot air fryer.

We haven’t cooked without them since we got them. You can see them in action in our Air Fryer Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe.

Thermapen One

We consider an instant-read thermometer a must-have accessory to ensure food safety. By far, our favorite thermometer is the Thermapen One. It gives you results within one second, is easy to clean, stores with the probe safely tucked away, and has held up to years of frequent use without problem.

You can buy the Thermapen One from Thermoworks for more color options. You can also purchase the Thermapen on Amazon, if that’s more convenient for you.
