St. Patrick’s Day Food Your Family Will Love
These recipe ideas mix traditional St. Patrick’s Day food and non-traditional meals with a twist—mains, sides, and desserts that are perfect for celebrating with family and friends.

St. Patrick’s Day is a wonderful time to celebrate the flavors of Ireland.
Over the years, we’ve posted several Instant Pot versions of St. Patrick’s Day favorites.
This recipe round-up offers everything from classic Irish fare to non-traditional dishes that will bring festive flair to your table.
Traditional St. Patrick’s Day Food

Corned Beef and Cabbage
Corned Beef and Cabbage is a St. Patrick’s Day staple, with a 90-minute cook time, most of which is totally hands-off, thanks to your pressure cooker!
(It is also one of the most popular recipes on our site.)
Our Corned Beef recipe takes salt-cured beef brisket and cooks it tender. In the last few minutes of cooking, we add cabbage, carrots, potatoes to the cooking liquid to take on the Corned Beef flavors without getting overcooked.
(And the leftovers make awesome Reuben sandwiches.)

Guinness Stew
Guinness Stew is a rich, one-pot meal made with juicy beef, tender potatoes, carrots, and onions in a rich, beer-infused broth.
We prefer Guinness Draught Stout (the smooth and creamy version) in this Irish stew recipe.
Best of all, you can have it on the table in under an hour.

Shepherd’s Pie
Shepherd’s Pie features creamy mashed potatoes swirled on top of a rich, flavorful meat-and-vegetable casserole.
While lamb is traditionally associated with this recipe, you can also use ground beef.
Making it in the pressure cooker gets it on the table in half the time!

Irish Soda Bread
Irish Soda Bread is a quick bread, made without yeast.
(Obviously, it’s not a pressure cooker recipe, but it is a perfect pair for any of the three St. Patrick’s Day meals mentioned above.)
When I’ve got the energy to make it from scratch, always turn to my friend Rachel’s Irish Soda Bread recipe—the plain version that omits the raisins and caraway.
Non-Traditional St. Patrick’s Day Food
Not a huge fan of traditional Irish fare? Want something quicker and easier? We’ve got you covered!

Potato Cheese Soup
Chunky Potato Cheese Soup is a hearty soup loaded with potatoes, bacon, corn, and cheese and is ready in just minutes.
Cooking the potatoes in the steamer basket above the onions, broth, and spices infuses the potatoes with the great flavor of the soup without breaking them down.

Stuffed Cabbage Rolls
Want the cabbage but not the corned beef? Try these cabbage rolls, which combine savory meat and rice in a tender cabbage leaf, topped with a delightful tomato sauce.
You can make them rolled-up or make them casserole style, which is quicker.

Chicken Pot Pie
Pressure cooking this classic meal makes it into a quick and easy-to-make weeknight dinner.
Growing up, we would use a shamrock cookie cutter to cut the pie crust to make a fun and festive meal without a lot of effort.

Green-Themed Mains and Sides
When in doubt, use green ingredients to create your St. Patrick’s day meal. No need for food coloring!
Some of our favorite green foods include:

St. Patrick’s Day Dessert Ideas
If you want to make something green and flavorful, you can’t go wrong with Key Lime Pie!
St. Patrick’s Day Rice Krispies Treats make a fun, quick, green-and-white dessert.
Pistachio Key Lime Shortbread Cookies are a not-too-sweet, crumbly shortbread cookie finished with a tart key lime glaze and sprinkled with finely chopped pistachios.
For something a little more decadent, try these adorable Boston Cream Cupcakes.
Or, for a cooler dessert option, make this Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream Pie, featuring a bittersweet chocolate crust and cool mint ice cream.
